1. Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX’s range of Aluminum Chip Capacitors provide high-CV performance in smaller packages than competing can-type aluminum capacitors, very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), high endurance, and compatibility with lead-free and RoHS requirements. Specialized characteristics of the conductive polymer and hybrid electrolytic solutions include smaller case sizes and higher tolerance for ripple currents, inrush currents, and high temperatures than standard aluminum electrolytic solutions.

2. Ceramic Capacitors

Ceramic Capacitors exhibit low parasitics and excellent EMI filtering capabilities. In a multilayer configuration, they display high capacitance values and various voltage ratings over a wide temperature range. Multiple styles are available such as MLCC chips, leaded capacitors, stacked capacitors and capacitors that utilize unique geometries.

3. RF MLO® Capacitors

MLO® Technology

Multilayer Organic Capacitors (MLO®) are polymer based capacitors that use high conductivity copper interconnects in a multilayer fashion. The ability to fabricate these components on large area substrates and state of the art laser direct imaging allow for improved cost benefits and tolerance control. The end result is a state of the art low ESR and high SRF low profile RF capacitor that can support frequencies well above one GHz. Available in capacitance values from .1pF to 5.1pF at a working voltage from 50-250VDC. Tolerances available as tight at ± 0.02pF.

4. Niobium Oxide Capacitors

Niobium Oxide OxiCap® Capacitors are solid electrolytic capacitors based on Niobium Oxide (NbO) anode material instead of traditional Tantalum, offering non-Tantalum material solutions. Niobium is widely available material, next element to Tantalum in the periodic table with many similar features. Several advantages over Tantalum come from Oxides of Niobium that are all stable with very specific performance with each Oxide number, which is utilized in the unique OxiCap® manufacturing technology of processing Niobium Oxide powders as base material for anode.

Niobium Oxide capacitors are extremely stable performance capacitors with high reliability level of 0.5%/1000hrs at 85°C or better, high safety technology with non-burning high resistance failure mode and high break down voltage. OxiCap® is available as low ESR, High CV, low profile, up to 125°C and multi-anode technologies. It is environmentally friendly and RoHS compliant technology in the same form, case size, and same or similar technical performance as standard Tantalum capacitors. Capacitors are offered in voltage rate up to 10Vr and high Capacitance. Majority of series meet AEC-Q200 requirements. All Niobium Oxide capacitors are supplied in orange color encapsulating material.

5. Polymer Capacitors

KYOCERA AVX offers a broad range of conductive polymer solid electrolytic capacitors, targeting general and specific market requirements. Typical features like high capacitance in small and low profile, low ESR, stability of performance in time, benign failure mode under recommended use conditions, make them a good choice in applications like smartphones, tablets, PCs, telecommunication, SSD and also industrial, automotive, defense and aerospace.

We are the first to market with several new polymer technologies such as the highest voltage in the industry, over 100Vr (Elektra award 2010), smallest case size 0402, 0603, 0805, highest reliability polymer in hermetically sealed package (Elektra award 2015) and highest energy density Joules / cc.

KYOCERA AVX polymers are available in a wide variety of technologies like low profile, high CV, high energy, low ESR in both J-lead and facedown (undertab) designs in product series targeting commercial, industrial, aerospace and automotive (AEC-Q200 Qualified) requirements.

KYOCERA AVX has an open and progressive policy on ethical supply and is first to be in compliance with OECD guidelines and legislation on conflict materials. Our polymer capacitors are environmentally friendly, lead-free, halogen free m.compound and RoHS compliant.

9. RF Thin-Film Capacitors – Accu-P®

Accu-P® Series

The use of very low-loss dielectric materials, silicon dioxide and silicon oxynitride, in conjunction with highly conductive electrode metals results in low ESR and high Q. These high-frequency characteristics change at a slower rate with increasing frequency than for ceramic microwave capacitors. Because of the thin-film technology, the above-mentioned frequency characteristics are obtained without significant compromise of properties required for surface mounting.

9.1. Features & Benefits

  • Low ESR at VHF, UHF and microwave frequencies
  • Ultra tight capacitance tolerances
  • High stability with respect to time, temperature, and frequency
  • AEC-Q200 Qualified

9.2. Typical Applications
